Share the Kitchen
At Key Ingredient I made the transition from a general graphic designer to more of a product designer. Focusing on their digital ecosystem, one of my first tasks was redesigning their suite of products from a visual and usability standpoint. Key Ingredient is a platform for creating, collecting and sharing recipes. Users can browse over 1.5 million recipes and organize the ones they like into handy cookbooks. With a small design and development team I helped create the foundation for a user focused design approach to iterative design and platform maintenance.

Key Ingredient consists of a online compontent for collecting and sharing recipes and a companion app that would let you take your recipes with you wherever you go. They also designed and produced and a proprietary, easy to use recipe tablet for those that simply wanted access to their collection without the fluff. I oversaw all aspects of design on the various digital platforms to all branding and marketing materials.
A key component of the platform was the collecting and organization of all those recipes. By creating a simple upload form and handy "cookmark" users are able to quickly add recipes to their account from any website. They are able to keep their growing collection highly organized by creating folders or "cookbooks" to store them all.
